Death Roll at Chiranjeevi's Party Launch

It was a disastrous start for Southern Superstar Chiranjeevi's political career as 1 woman died and 35 others were seriously injured at the launch of his political party Praja Rajyam.

In another episode that proves that too much popularity can be dangerous, at his party launch in Tirupati, hardcore fans of Chiranjeevi jumped over barricades and stormed towards the main gate to catch a glimpse of their idol, ensuing a chaotic stampede killing a woman and critically injuring several others.

The crowd included physically challenged people who were the worst affected. The disabled fans of Chiranjeevi, who were offered a special gallery near the podium were escorted out by volunteers and policemen before the meeting and averted a bigger tragedy.

Even several media persons had to run for safety. To add to the pandemonium, there was a short circuit in a power supply van.

Eventually the red button was pressed and Ambulances rushed several injured people to the hospitals.
