Harry Potter fans are in for a terrible spasm of the Cruciactus Curse - the release of the new movie "Half Blood prince" has been postponed from November 2008 to July 2009.
The strike by the Writers Guild had taken its toll on the hearts of eager fans and franchises equally. Initially set to release on November 21st 2008, Warner Bros felt the repercussions of the writers’ strike that impacted the readiness of scripts for other films.
It is still not clear as to how a writers' strike affected Half Blood Prince, since its script was already ready and filming had almost concluded. We think its a move to smoothen out the November 2010 release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", since fans after watching Half Blood Prince would have to wait just a year for Deathly Hallows to release.
And maybe Warner Bros this time around wants to focus on quality rather than finding cheap ways of making money. 'Goblet of Fire' and 'Order of the Phoenix' were the worst reviewed Harry Potter movies, chiefly since fans of those books were left disappointed what with huge omissions of central characters and curiously changed plot lines in the respective movies.
Whichever the case, lets hope Half Blood Prince doesn't maraud its maps.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will now release on July 17th, 2009. Lumos.
