Mummy Too Much of a Midget for the Dark Knight

Dark Knight Plunders More Gold

The Dark Knight drove his bat pod all over an army of undead Chinese CGI Mummies.

Once again, thanks largely to Mr. Heath Ledger, "The Dark Knight" continued to rule the box office charts for the third straihgt weekend.

The Dark Knight amassed another $43.8 million in the U.S alone fending off "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" which opened a close second with $42.5 million. Mummy 3 did manage to salvage some pride... as it grossed $57 million in the international market handily beating the gross of its prequels and The Dark Knight which grossed $37 million.

Cursed by Rachel Weiz's absence, plaugued by dismal reviews and whammied by the worst British accent an American actress can deliver, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor seems unlikely to reach $100 million at the domestic box office.

The Dark Knight on the other hand is expected to give Titanic a run for its money. The Godfatheresque tale of the caped crusader has raked in $400 million in just 17 days liquifying all possible records. Titanic grossed that number after 2 month of its release a decade ago.
